We want everyone to be able to use this website. We are working toward WCAG 2.1 AA conformance and welcome your feedback to help us improve.
Our Commitment
- Design and build for perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness.
- Prioritize keyboard accessibility, color contrast, captions/transcripts, and clear structure.
- Respond to accommodation requests in a timely, good-faith manner.
What We’ve Implemented
- Keyboard access: All interactive elements are reachable and usable without a mouse.
- Headings & landmarks: Logical heading order (H1–H4) and ARIA landmarks for navigation.
- Color contrast: Target contrast ratio ≥ 4.5:1 (text) / ≥ 3:1 (large text & UI).
- Images: Informative images have alt text; decorative images are marked aria-hidden or empty
alt. - Links & buttons: Descriptive link text; visible focus states.
- Forms: Labels, instructions, error messages, and programmatic associations.
- Media: Captions for videos; transcripts for audio interviews when published.
- Responsive design: Works on mobile, tablet, and desktop viewports.
- Plain language: Clear, concise writing and consistent patterns.
Ongoing Improvements & Roadmap
We review new content and components before publishing and are working on:
- Adding transcripts for legacy audio content.
- Converting any remaining PDFs to HTML or accessible PDFs with tags.
- Expanding skip-to-content and regional navigation shortcuts.
- Periodic automated and manual audits.
If you find an issue not listed here, please tell us (details below).
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, you may encounter:
- Third-party embeds (e.g., scheduling, video) with limited keyboard control.
- Historic documents that may not yet meet tagging/contrast best practices.
- User-generated or contributed materials with incomplete accessibility metadata.
We aim to fix or provide accessible alternatives as quickly as possible.

Compatibility & Supported Technologies
This site is designed to work with:
- Modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge (last two major versions).
- Operating systems: Windows, macOS, iOS, Android.
- Assistive technologies: recent versions of NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
Best experience: enable JavaScript and use the latest browser version.
Testing & Monitoring
We use a mix of:
- Automated checks (e.g., axe/lighthouse-style tools).
- Manual keyboard testing and screen-reader spot checks.
- Design reviews against WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria.
Conformance Status
Target standard: W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.
We are partially conformant and continuously improving. A formal conformance statement will be posted after our next audit.
Third-Party Content
Some pages link to or embed third-party services (e.g., video, forms). We cannot control their code but choose vendors with accessibility roadmaps when possible and provide alternatives when available.
Non-Commercial Project Note
This site is a non-commercial, research-only initiative operated by an F-1 student. While resources are limited, accessibility is a core requirement for publication.
